The Anthony D. Join Head Start children, parents, and other supporters of the organization on Friday, May 31, 2013 at the Boston Commons from 10:00AM to 12:00PM to discuss how budget cuts will have an impact on the children in the program. Tell a friend, bring a friend, and help defend a beneficial program to thousands of children. 
 
ABCD Head Start and Children's Services is the largest early childhood education program in Boston. They have established themselves as national experts in the field of early childhood development with a proven track record of serving low-income families.

Youth and Family Enrichment Services (YOFES) is collaborating with the SPARK Center to host a series of workshops on STD, STI, and HIV/AIDS Prevention from May 14th -May 23rd on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 5:30PM-8:30PM at the Youth and Family Enrichment Services Inc. located at 1234 Hyde Park Ave. Suite 104 Hyde Park, MA 02136. They encourage all to participate and will have a specific interest in Haitian/Haitian American community. $75 in gift certificates will be awarded upon completion of ALL workshop sessions. Dinner will also be served.   
 
YOFES is committed to empowering our economically  disadvantaged communities with a range of high-value  educational services that strengthen our families. YOFES works to  increase parents' knowledge and understanding of the different stages of child development and to provide them with the communication and nurturing skills that strengthen  family relations. 

B-3 will be hosting a food festival on Thursday, May 23, 2013 at the Boston Police Post located on 500 American Legion Highway Dorchester, MA 02124. The food festival will run from 11:00AM to 3:00PM. Admissions into the food festival will be $10 per person and will consist of lunch, dessert, and drinks. 
 
All proceeds from the food festival will go to "Summer Stuff" youth program. This program has been around since 2007 and geared to youth ages 13 to 18. The program allows youth the opportunity to participate in workshops, seminars, and activities.

The Mattapan Food and Fitness Coalition (MFCC) will be hosting a meeting about the Neponset River Greenway. This is going to be a wonderful opportunity to hear how to further connect our communities through green spaces, parks and additional pathways. Come hear what the most recent designs are for green spaces along the Fairmount Corridor and learn how to get more involved with MFCC and plan for a greener Mattapan future.
